Monte Carlo Hotels

While cheap day trips to Monte Carlo are possible, staying here is a completely different story. There is no shortage of accommodation although even travellers with decent budgets might find themselves wincing at some of the prices.

The Monte Carlo hotels below are grouped into three pricing categories:
Luxury (over €320)
Moderate (€150 to €320)
Cheap (up to €150)

These Monte Carlo hotel prices are per room per night, excluding breakfast.

Luxury

Hôtel Hermitage

Listed as a historic monument, the Hôtel Hermitage is an imposing belle époque hotel that remains one of the jewels in Monaco's architectural crown. Opulence abounds inside, with extravagant antiques and ornate décor, but also plenty of old-world style and elegance. Some rooms overlooking the harbour have their own terrace hot tubs.

Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel

Away from the bustle of Monte Carlo's busy Casino Square is the Beach Hotel, a 5-star resort overlooking the Mediterranean. This luxury hotel was legendary in the 1930s, attracting high society from across the globe, and has retained its contemporary comforts. Guests can also benefit from a heated seawater swimming pool, stunning views and exceptional gastronomy.

Moderate

Hôtel Ambassador Monaco

Monaco's main attractions, including Monaco Rock, the Palais Princier and Port Hercule, are just a stone's throw away from this stylish, understated hotel. The 3-star stay comes with all the usual comforts, Wi-Fi and air-conditioning included, at a rather reasonable price. There's also an in-house restaurant that serves Mediterranean classics.

Le Miramar Monaco

What this little 3-star lacks in spacious rooms it makes up for in wonderful views. Overlooking Port Hercule, the Miramar has simple, modern sleeping quarters, some with balconies. Its SunDeck Restaurant is a real treat: very good food served on a panoramic terrace looking out over the port.

Monte Carlo Bay

This refined resort opened in 2005 and has more than 300 rooms and suites, plus one palatial apartment. Guests can indulge themselves with the outdoor pool, lagoon and luxury spa, and take in views of the Mediterranean from the extensive grounds. Cheap

Hôtel Le Versailles

It isn't particularly inexpensive, but it's cheap for Monaco. Situated a few minutes of the Palais Princier, the Hôtel Le Versailles offers basic accommodation in a convenient location in La Condamine at the foot of Monaco-Ville. This 2-star also has a restaurant that serves French and Italian cuisine.

Hôtel Villa Boeri

Cross the road to Hôtel Villa Boeri and you also cross the border from Monaco to France. Yet despite being in a different country, the hotel is fairly centrally located with the Casino Square about 10 minutes away on foot. Some rooms have small terraces with partial sea views.

Address: , 29 boulevard Général Leclerc, Beausoleil,

Hôtel de France

This simple yet comfortable 2-star is just a few minutes' walk from the lively morning market at La Condamine's Place d'Armes and the shops along rue Grimaldi. Rooms have contemporary style and some come with a balcony. Considering it's less than 10 minutes' walk from the port, it's a bargain.
